Fenrir: In Norse mythology, Fenrir was a giant wolf who broke loose and swallowed the sun hence creating night.

In the drawing, Fenrir has just swallowed the sun and the moon is beginning to form in the background. In the traditional myth, the moon is the eye of Fenrir who is constantly in pursuit of the sun hence explaining the daily change from day to night. I changed the concept slightly because I thought that it made the image more interesting. ^_^
